12 in 1 Solar And Hydraulic Construction Kit

Ages 8+

Build it, power it, transform it, then start all over again. The 12 In 1 Solar Hydraulic Powered Robot is a hands on STEM construction kit that combines solar energy, hydraulics and engineering in one seriously clever build.

Children can construct 12 different moving models, from a T rex and elephant to an excavator, buggy and obstacle avoiding rover. Powered by sunlight and water, there are no batteries required, giving kids a practical introduction to renewable energy and the basic principles behind hydraulic power.

With plenty to assemble, experiment with and reconfigure, this is the kind of STEM toy that rewards patience and problem solving. Once the 12 suggested models have been mastered, the components can also inspire children to experiment with their own creations.

Why You'll Love It

• Builds 12 different working robot models from one construction kit
• Uses solar and hydraulic power to introduce alternative and renewable energy through hands on play
• No batteries required, with sunlight and water providing the power
• Combines construction, engineering and science in an engaging STEM activity
• Moving models let children see how their building and problem solving translate into real movement
• Multiple configurations give children a reason to dismantle, rebuild and try something new
• Encourages outdoor experimentation as children explore how direct sunlight powers their creations
• Offers scope for imaginative builds beyond the 12 included designs
• Designed as an educational construction project rather than a simple assemble once toy
• Quality components and thoughtful engineering create a rewarding building experience designed for curious young minds

Perfect For

• School aged children who enjoy construction, robotics, engineering and figuring out how things work
• Young STEM enthusiasts interested in renewable energy, solar power and mechanical movement
• Kids who enjoy more involved building projects that require concentration, patience and problem solving
• Independent projects, school holiday activities and screen free afternoons
• A clever birthday or Christmas gift for children who prefer building and experimenting over traditional toys

Play Ideas

• Choose one of the 12 models and follow the assembly instructions to bring it to life
• Take a completed model outdoors and experiment with different levels and angles of sunlight to see how solar power affects movement
• Compare the movement and function of different builds, such as the excavator, buggy and animal models
• Create engineering challenges by choosing a model for a particular task, then testing how well it performs
• Once the included builds have been mastered, experiment with the components to design an original solar powered creation
