Collection: Imaginative Play

Give a child a few characters, a vehicle, some animals or an entirely imaginary world and there’s really no telling where the story might go.

Imaginative play gives children the freedom to create their own stories, characters and adventures, whether they’re building a tiny world for fairies, sending dinosaurs on an expedition, creating adventures with vehicles and figurines or turning everyday objects into something completely different.

As children invent, narrate and change their play, they’re also practising creativity, communication, problem-solving and social skills while exploring ideas and making sense of the world around them.

There doesn’t need to be a plan, a correct ending or even a story that makes much sense to anyone else. If they imagined it, it belongs.
