How It Works

• The bouncy ball granules are made primarily from polyvinyl alcohol, a water soluble polymer with elastic properties. When moistened, the granules begin to soften and become sticky, allowing them to bind together inside the mould.
• As the material forms, the long polymer chains tangle together, creating structure and flexibility. When the ball hits a surface, these chains compress and then spring back into place, giving the ball its bounce. This simple process introduces children to real scientific concepts in a way that is easy to see and understand through play.
• To maintain the elasticity of your finished balls, store them in a sealed container when not in use.
