IQM Store is built on one simple belief: everything begins with the mind.

Children are constantly absorbing, discovering and making sense of the world around them. The things we play with can be so much more than entertainment. They can encourage curiosity, build confidence, inspire creativity and create opportunities to learn, connect and challenge our minds.

And while so much of IQM Store is inspired by how children learn through play, we don't believe curiosity, creativity or play should ever have an age limit.

That is the thinking behind IQM Store.

Why IQM Store Exists

After more than a decade working in the toy and gift industry, I had seen just how much choice there was for parents and gift givers, but more choice did not always mean better choice.

I wanted to create a store where the hard part had already been done for you.

A carefully considered collection of toys and gifts chosen for their quality, play value and purpose. Products that inspire imagination, encourage learning, support development and, importantly, are genuinely fun to play with.

Because the best kind of learning happens when it feels like play.

Fewer Toys. Better Play.

We don't believe children need more toys. We believe they need the right ones.

That doesn't mean avoiding what's popular or familiar. There is plenty of room for much-loved characters, trends and themes in good play. We're simply selective about what makes the cut, looking for products that bring something more through creativity, learning, interaction or play value.

Whether it's an open-ended toy designed to grow with them or something featuring a character they already love, the same question applies: will they genuinely engage with it beyond the initial excitement?

We look for quality, longevity and genuine play value, because a great toy shouldn't be forgotten by next week.

Chosen With Purpose

Quality is at the heart of what we do, but quality means more than how something looks.

We work with trusted brands and suppliers and consider the safety, craftsmanship, durability and design of the products we bring into the store.

We also think about what happens after the box is opened.

• Will it encourage imagination?
  
• Will it offer different ways to play, create, think or explore?
• Can it create opportunities for connection, interaction or play with others?
  
• Can it grow with them?
  
• Will they want to come back to it?
  
• Could it become something worth keeping or passing on?

We would rather offer fewer, better choices than fill our shelves simply for the sake of having more. And as a mum myself, I know that more toys often just means more things to store, sort and inevitably step over. I'd rather fill your home with toys children genuinely cherish, engage with and keep coming back to, because the best toys aren't the ones constantly being picked up off the floor, they're the ones constantly being picked up to play with.

Meet The Founder

Hi, I'm Monika, founder of IQM Store and mum of two.

After more than a decade working across toys, gifts, retail and buying, my experience has taken me well beyond simply choosing products for the shelf. I've visited factories, developed products from concept through to production, worked closely with product testing and compliance reports, and rejected products that didn't meet required standards. It's given me a firsthand understanding of what goes into creating and bringing a product to market, and the importance of safety, quality and practicality in the products ultimately being brought into children's homes.

Then I became a mum, and that experience took on a whole new meaning.

IQM Store launched in 2021.

Today, I still personally consider what comes into the store with the same question at the centre of it:

Is this worth bringing into a child's world?

Growing Clever Minds Together

IQM Store is an Australian small business, but the idea behind it is much bigger than toys. It's about encouraging curious minds to wonder, experiment, imagine, create and discover, whether they're little, growing up or simply young at heart. It's about helping you find something that brings joy, encourages play and feels genuinely worth giving.

And it's about remembering that learning, creativity and play don't begin and end in a classroom, or at a certain age.
