Collection: Sensory Play

Children learn so much about the world through their senses. Touching, squeezing, listening, watching, moving and experimenting all give them information about how things feel, sound, behave and respond.

Sensory play creates opportunities for children to explore those experiences in their own way. It can encourage curiosity, concentration and fine motor development while helping children become more familiar with different textures, sounds, movements and sensations. For some children, sensory play can also provide a calming, repetitive activity when they need a quieter moment to slow down and reset.

From wonderfully tactile play to activities that invite squeezing, sorting, touching, listening and discovering, sensory play doesn’t need complicated instructions or a particular outcome. Sometimes the learning is simply in experiencing, experimenting and finding out what feels interesting to them.
