Collection: Our Earth Life
At Our Earth Life, they see childhood as tree climbing with muddy hands, and endless exploring in search of forest critters or beach combing for hidden treasures. They strive to support families and children to bring nature into their lives through play and learning.
Their family’s passion for living sustainably on our earth, with a background in education, and their child’s comfort in nature have all guided their journey here.
"These museum-quality specimens are sourced ethically and designed to encourage a love of nature and our world in children. The insects and ocean creatures are sourced in two different ways, one method for insects, such as the Jewel Beetle from Thailand, is that they are brought in from crop farmers as pest infestations. The second method is that they are farm-raised in ocean/insect ranches, this is a sustainable practice as it encourages developing countries to practice conservation strategies and plant native plants (as opposed to logging and agricultural farming which destroy the environment). We are specific with what specimens we choose to stock and ensure that are not supporting the trade of wild-caught creatures, which is also why the sea horse is the only specimen which is a replica - sea horses are a nationally protected species."
