You've heard people speak about open-ended toys, and how great they are for your child's development. But how the heck do you find them?

We've grouped together all the open-ended toys we range, however before you delve into the range we thought its best to define what open-ended really is!

An open-ended toy is without limits, boundaries or rules, it's any toy that can be used in more than one way, without instructions and children can use their imaginations, likes, passion and creativity in any way they choose. They are great for creativity, imagination, competence, confidence-building, exploration, problem-solving, critical thinking and extended play, plus best of all, they will have your child's attention because they are creating their own play pattern, and they are in control.

The Montessori method of learning supports open-ended toys, as they support their self-directed learning, hands-on play and creative choices approach.

Examples of open-ended toys are:

• Magnetic toys i.e. Connetix
• Dolls & Characters i.e. dinosaurs, figurines, peg dolls etc
• Vehicles (cars, trains, boats and planes)
• Craft everything from crayons to stamps to reusable mats!
• Pay silks & rainbow blocks/pebbles etc
• Plain building blocks

but there are plenty more!
